Ingredients:
- Garlic - 30 cloves
- Finely sliced onions - 2
- Green chillies - 4
- Dry red chillies - 5
- Fenugreek (methi) seeds - 2 teaspoons
- Few curry leaves
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 a teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 1 to 2 teaspoons
- Salt - As per taste
- 1/2 a kg of rice
How to prepare?
- Place a cooker on medium flame. In it, add some oil, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and dry red chillies.
- Once the Fenugreek seeds turn golden brown, add finely sliced onion, green chillies, curry leaves and sauté for a minute.
- Then, add rice and water (double the quantity of water, i.e. , for every glass of rice, add 2 glasses of water).
- Then, add chilly powder, turmeric powder, cloves of garlic (whole) and salt as per taste.
- Mix well and close the cooker.
- After 2 whistles, turn off the stove. Open the cooker after 20 minutes.
Fenugreek rice is ready to serve!
